Job Title: Senior Dental Radiographer – Band 6 – Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Job Overview An exciting opportunity to join a small specialist team in the Dental Radiology Department, within the Newcastle Dental Hospital. You will be an enthusiastic autonomous radiographer looking to extend your skills and expertise while working in a team-based environment. The role includes a high teaching commitment to a range of students and is suitable for current Band 5 radiographers seeking promotion, as well as substantive Band 6 radiographers looking for a new challenge.

Responsibilities
Provide person‑centred diagnostic imaging with a high standard of care to a diverse patient group.
Teach undergraduate dental, therapy, dental nurse and BSc radiography students in intra‑oral and panoramic radiography.
Perform Cone Beam CT, cephalometric radiography, and assist Consultant Radiologists with ultrasound and sialography.
Take part in quality assurance, reject analysis, audits, teaching seminars, and line management responsibilities.
Support the department’s flexible working arrangements where service needs allow.
Qualifications – Essential
BSc Radiography or equivalent diploma (College of Radiographers).
HCPC registration.
Evidence of CPD.
Basic computer and IT skills.
Knowledge of quality assurance issues.
Experience working in a multidisciplinary team and previous radiographic experience.
Good oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of NHS policies and procedures.
Qualifications – Desirable
Previous dental radiography experience.
Previous teaching experience.
ECDL certification.
Postgraduate qualification in radiography.
Ability to produce short written reports and deliver oral presentations.
