Delivery Driver - Final Mile - Phenix City
The Delivery Specialist is responsible for delivering purchased merchandise to customers within the assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The Delivery Specialist will deliver legendary customer experience through building trusted relationships, offering seasoned advice, ensuring safe delivery of the product, resolving problems and handling product returns as required. Essential duties and responsibilities include maintaining regular and predictable attendance, ensuring timely deliveries, operating and maintaining a clean and organized delivery vehicle, loading, unloading, and organizing products in a safe and efficient manner, performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintaining an accurate record of deliveries, communicating with customers, providing exceptional customer service, partnering with field sales team and store personnel, handling all products with care, following all traffic laws and company policies, and handling returns, exchanges, or customer inquiries. Required qualifications include previous truck delivery experience, experience with hand truck, dolly, pallet jack and forklift, being 21 years of age or older, having at least 3 years of driving experience, meeting MVR check requirements, and holding a high school diploma or equivalent. Professional certifications such as DOT Medical Card are also required. Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities include a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, physical and mental stamina and ability to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely, ability to push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with the assistance of proper material handling equipment, ability to lift and move large, bulky and/or heavy merchandise, ability to safely load and unload a delivery truck, ability to use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar, excellent time-management skills, strong customer service skills, ability to utilize strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to read, write, and count accurately, ability to navigate using GPS systems and maps, and flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends. Working conditions include regularly working near mechanical equipment, driving assigned markets and providing deliveries in all weather and road conditions, and noise level in the work environment being moderate. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, kneeling/stooping/bending, driving a vehicle, reaching overhead, and lifting 50+ pounds.
