Responsibilities
Set up and operate various respiratory equipment for diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease.
Administer respiratory‑specific gases, medications, and modes of therapy for the respiratory‑compromised patient.
Respond to emergencies throughout the hospital.
Advise on arterial blood gas results.
Assist in the transport of mechanically ventilated patients.
May assist in ordering department supplies.
Takes and records verbal and telephone orders from physicians.
Acts as a resource for nurses, physicians, residents, interns, respiratory staff, students, and other hospital staff regarding initiation and operation of respiratory procedures.
May assume a charge role in the absence of the Respiratory Supervisor.
Participates in departmental in‑service/education programs.
Participates in quality assurance programs and in department/ BMC committees.
Work schedule includes alternate weekends and holidays.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care.
Minimum of 1 year of experience.
Oklahoma CRT license (upon hire). RRT license for Registered Respiratory Therapist only (upon hire).
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
ACLS (within 30 days of hire).
NRP (within 60 days of hire).
Work Schedule Alternate weekends and holidays.
