The Respiratory Therapist RRT administers pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care, following physician prescriptions. Responsibilities include assessments, monitoring patient responses, and implementing treatment plans to promote effective respiratory care, disease prevention, and rehabilitation. Ensures accurate documentation, maintains patient safety, and collaborates with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care. Essential Functions
Administers respiratory therapies, such as oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and ventilator management. Conducts patient assessments and monitors responses to treatments. Performs and documents Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) punctures accurately. Follows safety protocols and regulatory standards. Communicates effectively with healthcare teams and patients. Maintains thorough documentation of treatments and assessments. Manages ventilator settings and airway maintenance. Handles respiratory emergencies effectively. Provides age-specific care considerations. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
1-3 years of acute care respiratory experience required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficient in respiratory procedures and patient assessment. Strong communication skills. Skilled in ventilator management and airway maintenance. Experience with EMR systems. Knowledge of safety and infection control standards. Licenses and Certifications
RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist BCLS - within 7 days of hire ACLS - required NRP - if working in NICU Application
