Research Senior Technician

Responsibilities
Assist and support scientific investigation in neuron-glia interactions and related neurological research within the Department of Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology.
Independently conduct assigned experiments, including PCR reactions, cloning, gel electrophoresis, assays, cell cultures, and Western blot analysis.
Sort and process tissue and blood samples; perform routine procedures on lab animals; conduct various imaging techniques.
Record, consolidate, and assist with analysis of research results; evaluate validity of data from experimental procedures.
Summarize data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts.
Prepare research progress reports; assist principal investigator with publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts.
Conduct library research on requested topics; oversee and maintain accurate laboratory records.
Assist in training junior research staff, undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation.
Set up and operate laboratory equipment; monitor research supplies, inventory, and initiate procurement requests as needed.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
4 years of relevant experience with a High School diploma or GED.
2 years of relevant experience with an Associate's Degree.
0 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree.
Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research.
