Catering Waitstaff/Bartender (part-time) Job Summary Located in Brunswick, Maine, Bowdoin College boasts a student population of almost 2000. Our Dining Services Department makes everything from scratch and is consistently rated in the top 10 for college dining! We have our own butcher shop, bakeshop, and organic garden that all supply food to our two dining halls and three retail locations.

The Catering Waitstaff/Bartender is responsible for working various events on campus following standard procedures to facilitate service of food and beverages to Bowdoin College catering customers.

Compensation and Perks

Hourly rate: $23.50 per hour, eligible for overtime, shift, and weekend pay differentials

Shift differentials: 10% for 2nd shift, 15% for 3rd shift, plus an additional $1.00 per hour for weekend hours

Guaranteed a minimum of 3 hours of pay when scheduled to work

Free meal on scheduled workdays

Education and Skills Requirements

High school diploma or GED required

Must pass Maine Alcohol Server Course (B.A.S.I.C) upon hire

Strong commitment to dependability and punctuality

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment

Working knowledge of good personal hygiene practices

Experience Requirements

Entry level position, no prior work experience required

At least 6 months of bartending or catering waitstaff experience preferred

Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications in this posting to be considered for hire.

Standard Work Days and Hours

Onsite, part‑time, non‑benefit eligible position working less than 20 hours per week
