**Compensation Range:**-**Position Summary:**HCC faculty are expected to contribute to the college community through committee work, on-going professional development, and collaborative curriculum development. A passion for teaching and commitment to student success are essential.English faculty are expected to teach ENC 1101 and ENC 1102 (Composition) and to contribute to the college community through committee work, on-going professional development, and collaborative curriculum development.**Required Qualifications:*** Master’s degree in English or* Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the following:

o Applied Linguistics,

o Creative Writing,

o English,

o Grammar,

o Literature,

o Rhetoric and Composition, or

o Technical Writing.**Preferred requirements:**Community college teaching experience, instructional experience in college-level English, experience working with a diverse population, experience with online/distance learning education, ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, experience with technology (hardware and software), and participation in academic activities related to English or education (department, college, or community) are preferred qualifications.**Supplemental Job Information:**A faculty screening committee will analyze the strength of your application materials.

Applicants with a qualifying degree from an educational institution outside the United States and Canada must submit a foreign credential evaluation from one of the members of the National Association of Credential Evaluations Services (website: ).

The faculty screening committee will select the top candidates for an interview that includes comprehensive questions and may require a teaching demonstration.**Pay Rate:**Faculty members will be assigned to the appropriate salary grade based on the contract with the faculty union* Grade 2:

Master’s Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in field $51,934.60* Grade 2+: Master’s Degree with 30 graduate semester hours in the field $54,594.23* Grade 1:

PhD in major field $57,255.05**Up to four salary steps may be applied to the starting salary based on experience.****Closing Date:** February 08, 2026.
