Job Summary and Qualifications As a PreOp Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care rendered preoperatively for patients. You will demonstrate HCA values and provide quality care like family.
Responsibilities
Prepare the patient’s care area adequately before the case.
Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure.
Conduct complete physical and psychological assessment and evaluation of patient history and diagnostic tests.
Review patient charts for completeness prior to surgery.
Administer pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed.
Monitor patients until transferred to the operating room.
Qualifications
Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or higher nursing degree required.
1+ year of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU, or surgery.
Active RN license required by state of employment.
BCLS certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable).
ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
PALS required within 30 days of hire if required by facility.
