Position Summary
The Patient Care Associate (PCA) provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse at DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan in Detroit, Michigan. This is a PRN evening shift position.

Responsibilities
Assist with patient care needs, transport patients, specimens, and supplies
Report deviations from expected patient parameters to the registered nurse
Perform tasks delegated by the registered nurse based on patient needs and PCA skills
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Graduation from a school of practical nursing
At least 2 years of inpatient patient care associate or tech experience (6 months direct patient‑care experience preferred)
Completion of One Of The Following
A Certified PCA/PCT Program
A Certified Nurse Assistant Program or equivalent training
A Medical Assistant Program
An EMT program
A phlebotomy training program
Facility Description DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM) is one of the nation’s largest hospitals specializing in rehabilitation medicine and research. RIM is known for clinical expertise in spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, amputee, orthopedics and catastrophic injury care. The Institute houses the Center for Spinal Cord Injury Recovery and the Southeast Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury System (SEMTBIS), one of only 16 federally designated model systems of care for brain injury. RIM also operates 31 outpatient sites throughout southeast Michigan specializing in sports medicine and orthopedics.
