Job Summary:
The Mechanical Maintenance Grounds Worker performs and oversees team members in the inspection, mechanical maintenance, repair, and daily operation of Zoo small‑engine equipment, vehicles and facilities. The position is responsible for repairs, improvements, parts ordering, installation of equipment, and facilities needs. The worker provides a resource for all zoo departments and their leaders to keep our fleet of tools, equipment, and facilities in good repair and operating, assists the Grounds department with general grounds duties, and serves as a liaison between the Zoo and Fleet departments.
Responsibilities:
Maintain good repair of equipment by inspecting, troubleshooting, researching, and implementing solutions.
Repair or replace mechanical issues and components as needed.
Order parts and manage inventory for equipment and facilities.
Assist the Grounds department with general grounds duties when required.
Serve as liaison between the Zoo and Fleet departments.
