Summary: The
Articulated Dump Truck Driver
is responsible for safely and efficiently operating articulated dump trucks, preferably
Bell Trucks , on a
large-scale civil construction project . This role requires experience hauling materials such as dirt, rock, and aggregate across uneven terrain and active construction sites. The
ADT Driver
will work as part of a construction crew to support excavation, grading, and material transport operations while ensuring compliance with
safety regulations
and
project specifications .
Responsibilities:
Operate an
Articulated Dump Truck (preferably a Bell Truck)
to transport materials such as dirt, rock, and aggregate efficiently and safely.
Navigate
rough, uneven, and sloped terrain
while maintaining vehicle control.
Follow designated haul routes and adhere to
site traffic rules
and
speed limits .
Monitor loads to ensure they are within weight limits and properly distributed.
Work closely with
excavator operators, dozer operators, and other site personnel
to ensure smooth operations.
Conduct
daily pre-operation inspections
and complete the
Daily Equipment Inspection Checklist
to ensure proper functionality.
Perform minor maintenance, cleaning, and servicing of equipment to maintain operational efficiency.
Adhere to
OSHA safety standards
and all
company policies
while operating machinery.
Maintain awareness of
surrounding crew members, job site conditions, and potential hazards
to operate the truck safely.
Assist in other job site duties, including general labor, as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the
supervisor
or
project manager .
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of
3+ years
of experience operating
Articulated Dump Trucks (preferably Bell Trucks)
on
civil construction projects .
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of
site safety procedures , proper loading techniques, and terrain navigation.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to
50 lbs .
Frequent repetitive use of
hands, arms, and legs .
Strong
hand-eye coordination
and
depth perception
are required for precise operation.
Must be able to
sit for prolonged periods
while operating machinery.
Ability to
climb
and
maintain balance
on equipment.
Must be able to work in
various outdoor conditions , including
heat, cold, and uneven terrain .
Ability to drive and operate
company vehicles, forklifts, and other construction equipment
as needed.
Communication Skills:
Must be able to
give and receive directions
effectively for
safe
and
productive
job site operations.
Safety Compliance:
Understanding of
construction site safety procedures
and
regulations .
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is
preferred but not required .
Physical Demands & Work Conditions:
Work is primarily
outdoors
on
active construction sites
with exposure to
dust, noise, and weather conditions .
Must be able to work in a
fast-paced, physically demanding environment
with
extended hours
as needed.
May require
travel between job sites
based on
project needs .
