Description
Develops and oversees activities designed to promote positive clinical outcomes and regulatory compliance. Will have oversight and responsibility for the process of data collection and outcomes analysis for NHSN, the Joint Commission, and CMS Core Measures. Provide support (statistical, computer hardware and software) for statistical analysis and graphics applications. Will be responsible for data abstraction/analysis, and preparation of presentations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Health Administration from an accredited institution or other clinical discipline with strong medical background required
3-5 years experience in a clinical setting required.
Current Registered Nurse licensure in North Carolina
Experience in quality improvement/hospital accreditation preferred
Infection Control experience desired.
Project management skills
Knowledgeable about Behavioral Health reporting requirements- including NHSN, Inpatient quality reporting for CMS and the Joint Commission.
Experience with data entry for NHSN, CMS and Joint Commission.
Successful completion of BOTH “Infection Control Part 1: Clinical Surveillance of Healthcare-Associated Infections” and “Infection Control Part 2: The Infection Preventionist as an Environmentalist” offered by SPICE to meet the requirements of the NC Infection Control law 10A NCAC 41A.0206.
Knowledgeable about current healthcare regulatory standards
Excellent verbal, written, communication and organizational skills
Knowledge of computer applications- Word, Excel, etc.
Essential Physical Requirements
Must possess full range of body motion to pass a basic FIT test to include bending, stooping, standing and sitting for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
