Join Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Irving as a Registered Nurse in our Labor & Delivery unit. One day shift per week (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.) requiring a minimum of 2 years experience in L&D.
Unit Overview Fast-paced, high acuity environment caring for obstetric patients >20 weeks gestation. 10 L&D rooms and 2 OB triage bays. Standard patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2 (L&D) and 1:2–3 in OB triage, contingent on acuity, phase of care and census.
Responsibilities
Provide direct patient and family-centered care to obstetric patients.
Manage bedside care within the 1:2 patient-to-nurse ratios.
Collaborate across interprofessional teams to ensure safe, effective care.
Participate in unit-based councils and nursing governance.
Engage in continuous quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience, preferably Level III or higher.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Current RN license.
BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications (required within 30 days of hire).
AWHONN intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring certification (required within 30 days of hire).
