Responsibilities
Interview patients or representatives to obtain identifying and verifying information (name, address, age, date of birth, social security number, occupation, insurance information, and authorization).
Interface with the PBX operator and reception areas.
Operate a computer to input and retrieve data.
Communicate with the population served, utilizing age‑specific techniques from neonatal to geriatric.
Maintain proficiency in medical terminology.
Complete special projects or other assignments within specified timeframes.
Qualifications
Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative (preferred).
Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multi‑task and prioritize to meet required timelines.
Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Customer service experience (required).
High School Graduate or GED equivalent (preferred).
Employment Status and Shift Part Time (60 hours or more). Evenings.
