Summary:
Provides supervision and support to tellers to ensure maximum customer service. Monitors and trains teller staff in supporting bank marketing efforts and cross‑sell products, ensures compliance with all policies and procedures, and performs related duties to achieve banking center goals. Provides quality, accurate and timely customer service involving daily processing of financial transactions in a retail environment.
Weekly Scheduled Hours:
Monday‑Thursday 8:30 AM – 5:15 PM, Friday 8:30 AM – 6:15 PM, rotating Saturdays 8:30 AM – 1:15 PM.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operational Efficiency
Handle a cash drawer; ensure proper control and follow all audit and security policies.
Handle single‑control vault and maintain proper control of vault cash.
Monitor daily balancing and processing of ATM(s), including entries, servicing, and audits.
Verify deposits at night and lobby depository.
Alert tellers about suspected fraud, kiting, theft, or other illegal activity.
Secure all transaction records, supplies, and computer equipment at day end.
Monitor, control teller cash limits and banking center cash.
Ensure total cash in the center is balanced daily.
Coordinate dual‑control vault responsibilities.
Override transactions for tellers with limited withdrawal authority when warranted.
Assist tellers with balancing and review daily settlement; prepare correcting entries for teller errors.
Perform teller cash audits as required.
Stay informed of all operational updates and changes to ensure compliance.
Client Experience
Lead client experience efforts, ensuring excellent experiences and timely resolution of client issues.
Assist clients with select service needs.
Maintain teller line control and efficiency to minimize customer wait times.
Enhance knowledge through relevant training and web‑based learning.
Sales and Service
Cross‑sell and refer to bank partners to generate new business and deepen client relationships.
Explain product benefits, changes, restrictions, requirements, and other relevant information to clients, prospects, and tellers.
Team Management
Maintain workflow and schedule tellers.
Observe, coach, and lead the teller team to ensure strategic initiatives are executed.
Assist in evaluating employee performance and counseling when needed.
Determine and satisfy training needs, establishing performance plans.
Conduct teller meetings to explain new policies and promote continuous staff development.
Conduct meetings to promote sales, product knowledge, and client service.
Compliance and Risk Management
Maintain compliance with bank regulations, policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Lead operational performance, controlling key risk areas such as teller discrepancies, operational losses, audits, and out‑of‑balance conditions.
Follow audit and security policies during open hours and at opening/closing.
Control inventory of cash, official checks, and personal money orders through dual control.
Perform all other job‑related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly responsible for directing, coordinating, and evaluating personnel per policies and laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, and disciplinary actions.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred; 2‑5 years of experience or equivalent education/experience.
Computer and Office Equipment Skills
Microsoft Office suite.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
None required.
Behavioral Assessment Requirement
All candidates must complete the DeGarmo Retail Behavioral Assessment.
The assessment takes approximately 12–15 minutes.
Results must be submitted prior to application evaluation by Talent Acquisition.
