Responsibilities

Review municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations for the property.

Prepare Site Investigation and Due Diligence Reports to include the review of ordinances, utility service research, outside agency regulations and site visits to establish comprehensive development guidelines.

Prepare Conceptual Site Plans.

Prepare preliminary Grading Plans and Design.

Design Stormwater Management and Stormwater Conveyance Systems, Utility Systems and Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Design Plans.

Prepare construction cost estimates.

Prepare project proposals.

Prepare and manage project budgets.

Coordinate project activities with client, other consultants and project team for the purpose of preparing a comprehensive site plan application.

Prepare technical reports including drainage, sanitary sewer and site investigation reports.

Prepare written correspondence to outside agencies, client, contractor, etc.

Present to planning and zoning boards, municipal agencies and project teams.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

3+ years of experience in Civil Site Engineering (residential, institutional, industrial, and/or commercial site design and permitting).

Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) required.

Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.

Valid driver’s license and ability to operate personal or company vehicle.

Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Truck and Turning & Modeling software.

In‑depth knowledge of the planning and zoning process.

Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic and stormwater design.

Proficient in design and drafting capabilities, grading and drainage design skills.

Utility design experience including pump station and force mains.

Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals.

Proficient in mapping websites for due diligence and site investigation.

Construction support experience.

Proficient in design tools for site engineering:

AutoCAD Civil 3D

Hydrology Software (Hydraflow, HydroCAD, PondPack)

Hydraulic Software (Hydraflow, StormCAD, SSA)

HEC‑RAS

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.

Proficient in Bluebeam Revu and/or Adobe for design document markups.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Independent and critical thinking abilities.

Superior organizational and delegation ability.

Ability to work and lead in a team‑oriented environment focusing on staff development and mentoring.

Salary & Compensation The salary range for this position is $85,000 – $110,000.
