Position Overview: Assist the Safety Managers with all job‑site office safety matters, supporting Mastec Renewables at an assigned jobsite. Conduct site safety orientation, basic safety trainings, job safety analysis, workplace audits and incident responses as needed.
Location & Travel You’ll travel across the US, helping our team build renewable projects. This is a traveling position (up to 100%) where you will be onsite at a project location. You may be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the US. You’ll spend 8‑12 months on average per project. We offer designated daily per diem in addition to base pay to support living expenses. The position is eligible for routine travel home (rotation) from the jobsite.

Responsibilities
Coordinate and present safety training (e.g., New Hire Orientation, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, Respiratory) to support Wanzek and client requirements.
Provide safety leadership, creating enthusiasm and participation among management and craft workers, resulting in excellent safety performance.
Assist with inputting and reviewing incident reports.
Assist in executing jobsite safety plans.
Understand and apply lockout/tagout procedures safely.
Communicate with Wanzek management regarding safety matters.
Ensure safety documentation is complete and accurate as required by Wanzek and regulations.
Ensure PTPs, field audits, daily equipment inspections, SOPs and safety meetings are conducted and entered into systems for tracking.
Develop and administer recognition systems with Safety Managers to promote safe work performance.
Ensure sufficient supply of PPE and safety equipment; work with Site Safety Lead to order supplies as needed.
Assist with pulling safety report information and compiling safety report detail documents for Safety Managers.
Complete drug screen collections as needed.
Understand and implement the site‑specific emergency response plan.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
1 year of construction experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety, working toward Zero Injury principles.
Functional computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Accurate typing and report writing with appropriate grammar.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of hazard recognition, record keeping and injury management.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies.
Working Environment
Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, and extreme heat.
Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
