Location Omaha, Nebraska (main office) or Des Moines, Iowa, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Davenport, Iowa, or Hanover, Maryland
Base Pay Range $50,000 - $60,000 per year
Responsibilities
Design fire suppression systems including wet, dry, pre‑action, and foam fire sprinkler systems
Detail shop drawings (field installation drawings and hydraulic calculations), field engineering support, and operation planning
Compile and prepare plan submittals and material submittals for review by architects, engineers, clients, and authorities having jurisdiction
Coordinate fire sprinkler design with building structure and other MEP subcontractors
Prepare project material stock lists for procurement
Oversee project scheduling, quantity tracking, material fabrication and procurement
Contract administration and communication with the general contractor and authority having jurisdiction
Prepare “as‑built” drawings for in‑house archive and client files
Conduct NFPA Codes and Building Code research
Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently graduated in Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related degree (Associate’s considered), or 1‑2 years of fire sprinkler design experience, or 2+ years of direct construction related experience
Experience and familiarity with MS Excel, Word, and AutoCAD
Ability to travel to construction jobsites and other office locations as business requires (25%‑50%) in varying climates
Ability to read construction, engineering, architectural, and structural plans
High self‑discipline and ability to operate in a team environment
Highly motivated with passion for excellence and initiative
Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
Passion for safety and ensuring nobody gets hurt
Humility to learn from mistakes and avoid repeating them
Adaptability between team and independent work to meet deadlines and objectives
Organized, time‑and‑deadline conscious, and detail oriented
