The normal setting for this job is a repair / maintenance shop at any of our Upper MidWest locations
Role Overview Each day you’ll fix the trucks and equipment that service over 20 million customers across the USA. As a Traveling Area Relief Technician you can take pride in watching a truck roll out of the shop, knowing your local community will be supported by your hard work. Our mechanics take their careers to the next level by working on equipment that requires a high level of skill – and determination. You’ll be using modern tools and procedures to deliver exceptional maintenance on both diesel equipment and, at some locations, on our growing fleet of CNG trucks.
Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
Perform your work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
Carry out safety checks on vehicles – the safety of every single employee and the people in our communities is our number one priority.
Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Assist senior mechanics in the completion of project work.
Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Qualifications
4 years of relevant work experience
A valid driver's license, with a clean driving record
Be over 18 years of age.
Legally eligible to work in the United States
Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Physical Demands
Required to exert physical effort that will include but is not limited to frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; Constantly standing, walking, and grasping; Occasionally: sitting and balancing
Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc.) often;
Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements often;
This job operates in both inside garage, shop or gas plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity.
