Overview
Shop Millwright - Pump Mechanic (Exp. Required). This role is responsible for assembling and/or repairing equipment and machinery for the John H. Carter Co., Inc. / ControlWorx, LLC (JHC/CWX) Process Pumps & Equipment business unit. Work may include assembling, removing, repairing, transferring and installing typical petrochemical rotating equipment and machinery, including pumps, blowers, agitators, compressors, etc. Activities may take place in the Geismar equipment repair facility and/or at customer sites, mostly within 100 miles. The incumbent should understand the needs and goals of both the PPE equipment repair facility and the customer, and interact with internal and external personnel to complete tasks and deliver quality services. Duties & Responsibilities
Utilize precision millwright skills to disassemble, inspect, diagnose and repair typical petrochemical rotating equipment, including pumps, blowers, agitators, compressors, etc. This may be done in the field at customer sites or in the Geismar facility. Assemble new rotating equipment for shipment to customers, including precision equipment assembly, coupling and motor installation, equipment alignment, guarding installation, etc. Perform field activities such as removal and/or replacement of rotating equipment, including baseplate replacement, packing or mechanical seal replacement, and precision alignment. Document work scope for both shop and field activities, including critical dimensions on appropriate as-found/as-left forms. Possess the ability and initiative to manage multiple projects with minimal oversight. Work independently in a fast-paced environment. Be available to work overtime and weekends as deemed necessary. Able and willing to work on-call and off-shift as required by customers and/or management. Establish strong relationships with customers and fellow employees; maintain a customer service attitude and positive conduct in all interactions. Certifications, Education and Experience
Associate Degree, NCCER, or Trade School in craft preferred. Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in maintenance, repair, and/or assembly of typical petrochemical rotating equipment; will consider lesser experience depending on background and knowledge level. In-depth, hands-on knowledge of typical petrochemical rotating equipment including pumps, blowers, agitators, compressors, etc. Qualifications
Education: Associates or better in Millwright; High School or better. Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in maintenance, repair, and/or assembly of typical petrochemical rotating equipment; will consider lesser experience depending on background and knowledge level. Licenses & Certifications: Relevant credentials as applicable; ability to obtain and maintain required certifications. Additional Information
