Key accountabilities:
Understanding and utilizing established standard operating procedures to perform surface finishing of fixed pitch, propellers and controllable pitch propeller blades using a variety of grinding equipment and minor cosmetic weld repairs
Performing various finishing functions to include: recording propeller geometry, measuring and recording thickness dimensions and stencil hub data
Performing finishing operations on new and overhauled hub bodies, hub fairwater covers, and hub cones
Balancing controllable propeller blades, fixed pitch propellers, water jet impellers, hub bodies, and hub assemblies
Ability to lift various items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds
Qualifications: Basic:
High School Diploma or equivalent
5 years machining experience in surface finishing of large castings
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Must be able to successfully qualify to weld procedures:
SWI 6.2W-51A GTAW of NiAlBrz. to 90/10 Copper Nickel Pipe and
SWI 6.2W-50 GTAW of NiAlBrz. to Low Carbon Steel Plate.
Ability to properly utilize precision measuring equipment
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOD Confidential Security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship. Clearance is required prior to start
Preferred:
Ability to operate cranes, fork lifts, and material handling equipment
Experience in performing Liquid Penetrant Inspection
