EVENT ASSISTANT II (Part Time)

Job Description
To assist the University Police Department with campus security, event security, and to promote safety on campus.
Responsibilities
Direct traffic, park cars, control crowds, and assist students, staff, and faculty.
Communicate with the public and conduct security rounds.
Provide security at events, monitor door alarms, and perform additional duties that may be assigned.
Work all home football games.
Shift
Varies, based on events and times. This is a part-time position.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and some work experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Salary
$15.00 per hour

The Police Department allows applicants not selected to reapply. All applicants who successfully completed the selection process but were not offered employment must reapply to be considered in future positions. Applicants who fail portions of the selection process will be evaluated on a case‑by‑case basis. The applicant will be notified in writing of their elimination/non‑selection and a determination on reapplication and/or testing.

Initial screening and referral of applicants by Human Resource Services.
Selection Board Interview.
Background investigation, including a criminal history check and contact with at least three personal references.
