Overview
We are looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator. Operators are responsible for safely driving and operating commercial vehicles and equipment on infrastructure construction projects. They also load and unload equipment and freight. Qualified candidates must think critically and use good judgement to detect, minimize, and eliminate hazards on construction projects. The position must comply with safety and DOT regulations and requires continuous training. Some projects require in‑state travel and overnight stays. A typical schedule is Monday‑Friday, but may vary based on project timelines. Saturday hours are occasional and based on demand.
Job Responsibilities Operate GPS‑enabled dozer and other heavy equipment, grade job sites to shed water and maintain proposed elevations, and perform routine equipment loading and unloading.
Job Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ experience operating GPS‑enabled dozer and other heavy equipment.
Ability to grade job sites, shed water, and maintain proposed elevations.
Show up to work on time, possess a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and a thorough understanding of construction site safety.
About The Utility Division Utility is a division of Absolute Group that specializes in residential, commercial, and municipal infrastructure construction. The division provides full site development, including sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, grading, and earthwork. It also offers groundwork services such as trucking, hauling, basement excavation and backfill, finish grading, and directional drilling.
