What You’ll Do The Outside Parts Salesperson cultivates and expands business within an assigned territory, spending more than 50% of the time outside the office. Key responsibilities include developing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, ensuring customer satisfaction, and coordinating with internal teams to facilitate seamless order processing.
Job Duties
Develop and maintain knowledge of VVG products and pricing
Identify leads, manage prospects, and acquire new business
Visit assigned customers and prospect new customers
Communicate parts orders to inside parts salespeople
Meet or exceed new business sales goals
Secure first and follow‑up appointments with decision makers
Schedule and document activities
Prepare and draft sales documentation and other paperwork needed to complete the sale in a timely manner
Maintain awareness of market behavior and competitive trends, responding accordingly
Review weekly sales activities with the sales supervisor, monitoring progress toward goals
Advise parts people of any special needs and follow up on parts orders to ensure satisfaction
Act as public relations liaison for VVG
Customer Service Responsibilities
Maintain excellent customer service standards
Resolve customer complaints and provide conflict resolution
Visit customers to provide and maintain excellent customer relations
Required Skills and Qualifications
Five (5) or more years of experience in service or parts departments of the trucking industry
Technician experience
Professional appearance
Excellent customer service skills
Strong communication skills
Leadership qualities
Teamwork qualities
Initiative
Valid driving license
Physical Requirements
Must pass a post‑offer drug test
Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean motor vehicle record
