Job Responsibilities
Operate and maintain pipeline assets and facilities, including pipelines, tanks, pumping stations, LACTs, and gathering facilities, to ensure accurate and safe transportation and storage of products.
Manage petroleum product movements in and out of pipeline pump stations, utilizing tools and techniques to accurately assess and quantify crude oil and refined products, and perform custody transfer activities with carriers and customers.
Inspect pumps and valves for proper operation and perform monthly DOT tankage inspections and fire extinguisher inspections, maintaining associated records.
Inspect perimeter fencing, locks, and other security measures to maintain facility, pipeline, and right‑of‑way integrity, reporting any infractions.
Ensure routine and DOT‑compliant maintenance on right‑of‑way, equipment, and valves.
Communicate regularly with Pipeline Control Center.
Serve as witness to meter proving and crude oil shipment from lease to delivery point; run pipeline pigs as needed.
Perform other pipeline‑related tasks or projects as directed by the Operations Supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required
High school diploma or equivalent.
Pipeline knowledge and experience, with the ability to manage pump station, pipeline, and lease crude oil shipping responsibilities.
Ability to read and comprehend technical operational manuals.
Basic math and computer/PC proficiency.
Ability to calculate fluid flow, perform batch scheduling, and use basic sampling equipment.
Valid driver’s license for company vehicles.
Proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking.
Strong organizational and record‑keeping skills.
Ability to obtain operator qualifications and complete Haz‑MAT training and meet minimum DOT requirements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Physical capability to lift or carry equipment up to 50 pounds, and to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Willingness to travel, work overtime, and participate in an on‑call rotation as required.
Qualifications
Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean abstract.
Cleared criminal history/background check and satisfactory reference checks.
Compliance with the company’s drug and alcohol policy, including pre‑employment screening.
Employment Eligibility This position is not eligible for employment‑based visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. for the duration of their employment.
