Medical Laboratory Scientist - Providence Anchorage
Part‑time, 0.8 FTE, 8‑hour evening shifts, 32 hours per week at Providence Alaska Medical Center, Anchorage, AK.
Overview Provides accurate, timely, and cost‑effective laboratory testing of patient samples to aid in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Offers technical expertise to Providence Alaska Medical Center and other institutions. Meets and exceeds functional criteria for Medical Laboratory Technician II.
Responsibilities
Perform laboratory testing of patient samples across multiple modalities.
Apply technical expertise and laboratory procedures in a clinical setting.
Ensure compliance with quality assurance and regulatory standards.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or equivalent education/experience.
Education and training equivalent to a bachelor's in chemical, physical, or biological science with sufficient clinical laboratory experience on human specimens to meet MLS or MT certification requirements through a nationally accrediting agency (ASCP, AMT, etc.).
National Medical Laboratory Scientist certification (ASCP) within 1 year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
Schedule 8‑hour evening shifts (available 32 hours per week).
Pay Range $35.66 – $55.37 per hour.
