Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

Department: PMPH OBGYN

Entity: Clinical Care Associates | Penn Med Princeton Hospital

Location: Plainsboro, NJ – Medical Arts Pavilion (5 Plainsboro Road Plainsboro, NJ). This role may require occasional travel to Forrestal, Robbinsville, Hillsborough, Pennington and Monroe, and Bucks County, PA.

Hours: Full Time – 8am‑5pm Monday‑Friday

Sign‑On Bonus: $1,000 to external candidates

Salary Range: $19.10 – $26.84 per hour

Responsibilities

Promptly rooms patients, using EMR to alert provider that patient is ready; reviews past medical, surgical, family, smoking history, allergies, medications; notes corrections in EMR, medication refills; initiates self‑management goal setting; obtains vital signs and documents in EMR; prepares chart; understands insurance restrictions for lab work, referral needs, precertification requirements.

Observes patient condition and communicates any abnormal data or changes to provider.

Assists patients with walking, transfers, dressing, undressing, preparing for exam, and remains in exam room when necessary/requested.

Performs EKGs and other outpatient screening tests as per provider order after properly preparing the patient; accurately documents results in EMR.

Responds appropriately to emergency/code situations.

Administers prescribed medications, gives injections and vaccines; reads PPD results, under the direction of provider; documents in EMR.

Qualification

High School Diploma or GED.

Required Certifications

CPR (required prior to start date).

Medical Assistant Certification (within 90 days of hire).

Preferred Experience / Skills

Minimum of 2–3 years in a healthcare setting in a similar position.

Doctors office experience preferred.

Interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

Basic computer knowledge and skills.

Ability to speak, read, and write in English.

Attentive to detail.

EMR skills.

Driver’s license.
