Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

to join our Cardiology team in an

adult outpatient clinic

setting. The ideal candidate will thrive in a

small, fast-paced department , providing high-quality clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent patient care.

This is a

day shift

position with potential for

temp-to-hire

conversion based on performance and facility needs.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare patients for cardiology consultations, exams, and procedures.

Obtain and record vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, and heart rate.

Perform and obtain

12-lead EKG/ECG

tests as ordered.

Assist physicians and nurses during examinations and diagnostic procedures.

Manage and maintain patient medical records accurately in the EMR system.

Prepare exam rooms, maintain supplies, and ensure a clean and safe clinical environment.

Provide patient education regarding medications, procedures, and follow‑up care.

Coordinate scheduling, referrals, and documentation within the department.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to support patient care plans.

Qualifications

Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

credential from one of the following:

AAMA, AMT, NHA, AMCA, NAHP, or NCCT.

Current BLS certification

(American Heart Association).

Minimum of 2 years of recent CMA experience

in a clinical or outpatient setting.

Prior experience in

Cardiology or Internal Medicine

preferred.

Strong ability to multitask and work effectively within a small, high‑volume practice.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
