Senior Helpers - Asheville, NC
Senior Helpers strives to provide the best combination of quality and value in senior care allowing the elderly to age safely at home and is looking for an experienced care professional to lead its new flexHOME program at an independent living community. The flexHOME Program is unique in the industry and provides clients with just the amount of care needed to remain at home safely and comfortably. The flexHOME Program also provides the Care Professional the opportunity to have a consistent schedule and guaranteed hours.
As the representative of Senior Helpers at the community, the lead caregiver would have some marketing and administrative duties in addition to the caregiving duties.
Caregiving
Prompt arrival/departure for assigned shifts and client visits.
Complete assigned tasks for each client as outlined in each clients service agreement, including med reminders, shower assistance, housekeeping, laundry, dressing, etc.
Closely follow the Plan of Care (flexHOME Task Sheet) and advise the office if changes are needed or a client wants to add additional tasks.
Visit each client within the preestablished service window
Document completion of tasks and other client interactions as required
Engage politely with each client, being attentive and helpful
Work an average of 24 hours or more weekly. Also, work a minimum of 2 weekends per month as needed.
No (non-Emergency) last minute call outs which negatively impacting client care and scheduling. Non-emergency call-outs require a minimum of 2 days notice.
Completion of all assigned Senior Helpers Training.
Meet service delivery expectations of the flexHOME Care Program
Always present yourself professionally representing the Senior Helpers brand.
Marketing
do intake interviews with new residents, introduce services, sign up new clients
engage with residents (clients and non-clients) at mealtimes or other opportunities
engage with community staff to promote services,
Communicate clearly with clients, staff and team members
Remain on campus during shift, defaulting to our designated office, as a resource for service information
Professionally represent Senior Helpers
Administration
Document assessments
Manage care schedules to maximize efficiency
Communicate and report with main office
Job Requirements
Experience with IFL, ALF or skilled nursing facility
Good judgement
Good communicator (written and verbal)
Able to set boundaries
Team player
Physically able to perform duties of caregiving
Good time management
