Overview

Associate Nurse Manager (RN) - Mother/Baby - FT - Nights at Parkland Health. This role coordinates patient care delivery for the Mother/Baby unit using the Parkland nursing professional practice model, applying the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate care. The RN delegates interventions based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, patient condition, and staff competencies. Responsibilities

Serve as a patient advocate, maintain patient rights and confidentiality, and foster a therapeutic environment to promote wellness. Provide patient care education to patients and family members; serve as a resource for clinical care issues; participate in community outreach as assigned. Ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines; promote adherence to accreditation and program requirements; maintain knowledge of sanitation, infection control, safety, supplies, and equipment. Perform patient assessments, recognize changes in condition, and implement timely interventions; communicate with providers and coordinate orders as needed. Support breastfeeding and newborn care education; safely administer medications using the six rights; manage IVs; perform point-of-care monitoring and infection control practices. Document accurately and timely in patient care records; ensure records meet department and Parkland standards. Identify opportunities to improve workflows and patient satisfaction; make recommendations, implement changes, and monitor results. Stay current with nursing practice through seminars, journals, and professional involvement; maintain Texas RN licensure and any required certifications; apply new knowledge to practice. Seek direction from experienced staff; provide guidance to non-nursing staff as needed; ensure proper handoffs when care is relinquished; participate in information exchanges that support Parkland standards and goals. Education:

Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Experience:

If less than 9 months of experience, a Nurse residency is required. LVN experience does not waive this requirement. Mother/Baby MFM experience preferred. Equivalent Education and/or Experience:

None. Certification/Registration/Licensure:

Must have current, valid RN license or temporary RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing; or a valid Compact RN license. Must have a current healthcare provider CPR card from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network. Must have Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) on hire or placement. May be required to have additional specialty certifications. Demonstrate knowledge of nursing standards of care, maintain patient-centered care, and communicate effectively with patients and team members. Employment details
