Responsibilities
This position is for current ONIN Team mates that are eligible for conversion.
Assemblers at Mercedes-Benz Vans work within a team in an assembly‑line environment building state‑of‑the‑art vans for the American automotive market.
Prepare the assembly
Check production documents for completeness
Inspect incoming parts for completeness and quality
Provide feedback on missing/incomplete documents or parts
Assemble components and/or assemblies
According to the appropriate work instructions, mount various assemblies and components on numerous or different stations within an allotted timeframe
Report self‑discovered defects/errors
Ensure the assembly meets high quality standards
Perform maintenance work according to specifications (tool maintenance, housekeeping, Total Production Maintenance) within individual workstation and on station tools
Participate in Continuous Improvement Process
Qualifications High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.
1+ years relevant manufacturing experience or Lean Manufacturing certificate preferred.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Basic hand/power tool familiarity
Preferred experience in automotive production
