Registered Veterinary Technician - Emergency

Role Responsibilities
Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
Assist the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with the state Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians.
Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
Assist in maintaining comprehensive medical records and support practice systems.
Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
Experience & Skills Requirements
Active LVT/RVT or CVT (Required)
Minimum 3–5 years of clinical veterinary experience
Experience in Emergency and Critical Care or Specialty medicine
Familiarity with common disease processes that present to emergency service and associated treatments
Strong medical math skills (fluid rates, CRI calculations, multimodal drug infusion)
Ability to obtain blood pressure, ECG, SpO₂, etc. and integrate clinical signs with disease processes
Comfortable utilizing digital radiography machines
Prepare animals and instruments for surgery
Provide surgical assistance and post‑operative care
Administer medications and treatments prescribed by a veterinarian

Compensation Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience, hourly pay starting at $24–$30 per hour. The actual rate will consider a wide range of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
