Job Description Summary Spira Care was designed with our patients at the center of their Care Teams. This collaborative, patient-centered approach to primary care offers patients a one‑of‑a‑kind healthcare experience and provides healthcare professionals an opportunity to see the impact they can make in their patients’ lives.

Our Care Teams consist of professionals with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and focus areas who are curious, empathetic, and collaborative. Spira Care is seeking team members who are excited about innovating in primary care and are passionate about helping people achieve their health goals.

The Manager, Care Center is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all activities within their Care Center. The person in the role manages coordination, supervision, and direction of member flow, problem recognition and resolution, serves as a role model, and provides leadership for all care center activities.

Management / Leadership Responsibilities

Hire and retain competent staff, develop their proficiency, nurture their creativity, and encourage engagement through continuous improvement. Conduct annual performance appraisals by coaching and mentoring the team to meet quality standards of performance and culture.

Mentor staff to establish a trusted partnership with members and build credibility through knowledge sharing and collaboration around health care needs.

Develop the team’s ability to operate successfully in an ambiguous environment that requires adaptability and reliability.

Model core values and support organizational goals of Spira Care.

Member Experience Responsibilities

Ensure the team provides a high degree of customer service, including handling member incoming calls, in‑person interactions, and member outreach when needed.

Identify member experience trends and implement corrective actions and improvements where needed. Hold staff accountable for member experience in the care center, including evaluating and enhancing workflow, resolving member complaints, and ensuring staff engagement to improve the overall Spira Care experience.

Clinical / Operational Responsibilities

Accountable for inventory management of care center supplies/immunizations, scheduling, payroll, and consistently upholding regulatory compliance policies.

Assist with the review and revision of clinical policies and procedures.

Manage projects and competing priorities to ensure Care Center operations run smoothly.

Responsible for the operational and administrative functions core to the continued success of the care center.

Serve as the on-site escalation and main point of contact for Care Center decisions and emergency response.

Regulatory / Compliance Responsibilities

Maintain confidentiality of all regulated information in compliance with state and federal laws; read, understand and follow medical policy and all corporate, divisional and departmental policies and procedures, including but not limited to PHI and PII.

Ensure staff maintain all required competencies on an annual basis. Verify all licensing and national certification criteria are met and up to date.

Meet individual quality performance standards and annual targets for program performance as mutually agreed by management to maximize program value and enhance member experience.

Work with minimal supervision, handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize work appropriately, and collaborate with Spira Care operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; focus in health care administration, nursing, operations/management or related field.

3+ years’ experience working in a healthcare setting.

Maintain licensures and certifications throughout employment.

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications.

Familiarity with electronic medical records systems and clinical workflows.

Familiarity with health insurance.

Demonstrate competence in building high‑performing teams.

Preferred Qualifications

7+ years management experience; clinical or outpatient setting.

Athena EHR experience and proficiency with medical terminology.

Prior healthcare insurance knowledge/experience.

Experience with ACA and/or Medicare populations.
