Overview
Platinum Dental Services is seeking an experienced traveling periodontal dental assistant to serve as a specialty assistant within our periodontal program across multiple offices in Utah.
Schedule & Travel Details Full‑time, Tuesday–Friday (8 AM–5 PM) with a 1‑hour lunch. Logan locations operate 9 AM–6 PM. Travel between the following locations:
North Logan
Cache Valley
Providence
Redwood
Central Ogden
East Ogden
Fairfield
Tooele
Magna
South Provo
Key Responsibilities
Welcome and prepare patients for periodontal treatments
Assist the periodontist with 4‑handed dentistry, surgical setups, and perio procedures
Select, set up, and sterilize instruments and equipment
Manage and order supplies for the traveling perio kit
Communicate supply needs to each office
Complete lab tasks as instructed
Provide post‑operative instructions
Maintain clean, organized, and well‑stocked operatories
Schedule appointments and maintain accurate patient records
Qualifications
Proven experience as a periodontal or specialty dental assistant – leadership level
Ability to train other dental assistants and oversee perio setup consistency
Strong knowledge of periodontal instruments, surgical procedures, and sterilization protocols
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills; manage inventory across multiple locations
Strong communication skills with patients, teams, and office leadership
Knowledge of health & safety regulations
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive hourly base rate ($20–$22/hr) plus mileage and bonuses
Mileage reimbursement included
Dental, 401K with company match, and additional benefits (full‑time, >30 hrs/week)
1 week paid time off
