Join NANA as a Registered Dietitian, supporting food and nutrition services in a behavioral health facility. This PRN (as‑needed) role supports the NMS Regional Registered Dietitian in clinical patient assessments.
Job Description The PRN Registered Dietitian will provide a broad array of support to the General Manager within the contracted facility, consult with healthcare personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions, utilize healthcare menu programs, ensure compliance with menu systems, conduct QA audits, offer training, and perform other duties as required.
Responsibilities
Provides a broad array of support to the General Manager within our contracted facility.
Consults with healthcare personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions, such as low‑fat or salt‑free, of patients in a behavioral‑health setting.
Utilizes healthcare menu programs and works with unit manager to ensure compliance with menu systems.
Provides QA audits to manager to ensure regulatory, contract, and company compliance is met.
May produce or provide training for manager and/or employees on assigned contract.
Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success may be assigned.
Qualifications
Registered Dietitian with a valid/current license; Alaska license preferred.
At least two (2) years of working experience as a Registered Dietitian.
Must maintain a professional standard of ethics and professional dietary practices.
Consult with healthcare personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions, such as low‑fat or salt‑free, of patients in a behavioral‑health setting.
Observe confidentiality regulations established by the healthcare facility.
Knowledge of effective teaching processes and principles in planning, providing, and evaluating optimum health care.
Experience, training, and knowledge in physical health education with ability to set up and facilitate health promotion classes and programs is preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Weather: Indoors, environmentally controlled; work performed inside. Noise level: Moderate. The environment is an office located in an industrial kitchen within a healthcare setting. Physical requirements: lifting/moving up to 25 lbs, frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift. Travel: up to 30% to various locations in the U.S. and/or remote locations; travel may include snow machines, boats, small airplanes, and ATVs. Travel is coordinated by NMS.
