Research Grant Specialist I - OB/GYN & Pediatrics - Full-Time, Hybrid
Join Cedars‑Sinai as a Research Grant Specialist I (RGSI) – Post‑Award. This role works with the Principal Investigator and senior research administrators to monitor grant accounts, track expenses, reconcile budgets, and ensure compliance with federal and state agencies.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as liaison between departments, Sponsored Research & Funds Administration, accounting and finance.
Prepare and route internal documents for signature and processing.
Perform all post‑award administrative functions, including monitoring grant accounts and tracking expenses.
Reconcile project expenses, create financial projections, and submit progress reports.
Handle funding corrections via direct cost transfer requests.
Enter Notice of Awards details into databases and coordinate compliance documentation.
>Participate in required training and education programs. Assist senior administrators and leadership with additional activities as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
One year of experience in research grant administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with federal sponsors (NIH, DOD, FDA) and non‑federal sponsors; familiarity with building budgets and basic financial reporting preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and capable of creating Excel spreadsheets for budgets and data tracking.
Knowledge of PeopleSoft preferred; understanding of general accounting and financial analysis required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Ability to work independently, set priorities, and maintain attention to detail.
