Position Summary
Responsible for preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination by a Pathologist. Duties primarily include
cutting and embedding , with potential for special stains based on experience. Ensures accuracy, quality, and compliance with laboratory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform cutting and embedding of tissue specimens
Prepare slides for microscopic analysis
Assist with special stains as applicable
Maintain specimens, reagents, and equipment
Follow all safety, quality, and documentation protocols
Collaborate with Pathologists and lab staff
Requirements
Associate’s degree in a science-related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
NAACLS-accredited Histotechnology program (or completion within 1 year of hire)
ASCP certification (or obtained within 1 year of hire)
Willingness to relocate to Peoria, IL
Compensation
$29.30 – $34.47/hour
Sign-On Bonus:
1 year: $2,500
2 years: $5,000
3 years: $10,000
Relocation Assistance:
Case-by-case
Holiday Pay:
Time and a half (if worked)
