Responsibilities
Bag groceries at checkout, aiming for at least five items per bag while ensuring items are not damaged.
Follow best practices for bagging items in reusable, plastic, or paper bags.
Assist customers with loading bags into their cars.
Remove merchandise from the bottom of bascarts for checkout.
Perform basic shelf conditioning.
Inform customers of grocery specials.
Return merchandise to store shelves and gather bascarts, returning them to designated areas.
Clean spills, pick up trash, and maintain cleanliness inside the store and parking lot.
Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
Understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
Adhere to food safety regulations and company guidelines.
Perform preventive maintenance inspections and report needed repairs.
Create a welcoming environment by answering product questions, providing assistance to minors, people with special needs, and older adults.
Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws.
Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
Follow directions and seek assistance as needed.
Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
Customer service skills.
Effective communication skills.
Retail experience preferred but not required.
Ability to work part‑time.
