Overview
As a member of a legal support team, the Legal Support Technician utilizes various modern office equipment to support the legal staff in the Office of the Attorney General. Responsibilities include answering telephones, processing and coordinating Revolving Fund checks, collection advices, payroll, and travel claim checks, processing incoming faxes, purchasing Transit Passes in accordance with Accounting and State Administrative Manual procedures, maintaining transaction logs, reconciling cash balances, conducting audits and preparing management reports as required, handling maintenance requests, photocopying and assembling large voluminous documents, bae stamping, indexing, and closing case files by preparing labels and slips for delivery to the Docketing Unit.
Responsibilities May occasionally be called upon to answer telephones for the Executive Office. Using various computer software, the technician proficiently types, edits, stores, retrieves, prints, processes, and faxes documents and correspondence using modern office methods and procedures as required. The technician independently and with initiative completes correspondence and other non‑legal documents pertaining to court proceedings, often of a confidential nature, providing support to legal teams consisting of attorneys, paralegals, and secretarial staff. Responsibilities also include assisting legal secretaries in preparing documents in accordance with Prolaw for court filing, preparing exhibit tabs, Bates numbering, and indexing of complex cases, photocopying and faxing documents, including electronic documents, and assisting with preparing envelopes, labels, and messenger service slips for service of documents.
