Founded in 1991 as an Employment Service Organization, PORTCO provides transitional, supported employment and vocational services to individuals with disabilities who could not otherwise find and maintain competitive employment on their own.
Manual labor associated with the daily cleaning of buildings. Employees in this job classification work under immediate supervision and perform duties requiring moderate physical strength (able to lift 25 pounds). Typical duties include dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, dusting, cleaning restrooms, removing trash, polishing furniture, high dusting, vacuuming, and simple operation of basic mechanical cleaning equipment.
Specific Responsibilities
Police public areas
Basic floor care: dust mop, sweep and wet mop floors
Spray‑buff floors, may require use of power equipment
Vacuum and spot clean rugs and carpets
Scrub and clean restroom fixtures
Stocking restrooms with towels, soap and other items
Dusting and cleaning walls, doors, blinds and windows
Woodwork and other above‑floor surfaces; dust, clean and polish furniture fixtures
Clean elevators and stairwells
Police around outside of building; sweep and remove debris from outer areas and walkways
Empty inside and outside trash receptacles; empty recycling containers
All other duties as assigned within scope of work
Accountable For
Timely completion and accuracy of all work
Working closely and harmoniously with other employees
Adherence to contract requirements, company policies, and all safety and health regulations
