Job Summary:
Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide and oversee quality and compassionate care for patients at our Northside and Southside inpatient psychiatric facilities. The crisis stabilization units provide services for adults and children. Most patients are admitted involuntarily via the Baker Act. The normal length of stay is typically 3‑5 days. Crisis stabilization units are fast‑paced working environments presenting employees with challenging and rewarding opportunities. Employees work together and support one another in a friendly, team‑oriented atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
Admissions, discharges, taking doctor’s orders, administering medication.
Provide routine and emergency medical care and interventions as needed.
Assess needs and problems, plan care in cooperation with treatment team.
Monitor and observe patients, oversee care provided by Behavioral Healthcare Assistants.
Ensure services are in accordance with Quality Assurance Standards and Joint Commission standards.
Qualifications:
Valid State of Florida Registered Nurse license and either an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Experience in medical‑surgical and/or psychiatric nursing is required.
Make sound decisions independently and demonstrate good judgment on a daily basis.
Excellent communication skills essential; interact with internal and external customers, families, caregivers.
Ensure documentation, paperwork and system entries meet internal and external guidelines for content, accuracy and timeliness.
Position Details:
Every Saturday and Sunday, 7:00pm to 7:30am / MHRC South / Adult Unit
