Job Description
Initiates and conducts therapeutic procedures, maintains patient records, and selects, assembles, checks, and operates respiratory equipment.
Responds to various emergency codes, performing duties such as maintaining the airway, intubation, chest compressions, and ventilator setup.
Determines requirements for treatment, including type, method, duration of therapy, precautions, and medication dosages compatible with providers' orders.
Performs diagnostic testing per facility needs.
Monitors patients' physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes, consulting with providers if adverse reactions occur.
Qualifications
Associate (Required)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) - RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) - RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) - RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
