Overview Veeco is hiring a
Senior Manufacturing Technician
for Final Test in Horsham, PA with primary responsibility to test newly manufactured or refurbished systems and subsystems on the test floor. This includes configuration setup, calibration, mechanical fit, systems communications, software configuration, and subsystem qualification. Collect and manage all manufacturing test data associated with Acceptance Testing (ATL) and Set up Verification Audit. Troubleshoot testing activity discrepancies, report discrepancies and work with Assembly, Engineering and R&D groups as required to resolve diverse & complex issues found during Test. Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Assembly Test Technicians to resolve and close issues and disassembly/packaging for shipping equipment to the customer. Present schedule and status of tested systems and subsystems at the daily Gemba. This is a 2nd shift position with a schedule of 3:30 pm to 12:00 am.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot testing activity discrepancies.
Work with Assembly, Engineering, and R&D groups as required to resolve diverse & complex issues found during Test.
Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Assembly Test Technicians to resolve and close issues.
Manage all manufacturing test data associated with Acceptance testing (ETL & ATL).
Compile statistical reports for each system during Final Test.
Analyze discrepancy data for each system to provide corrective action.
Identify and provide improvements of test methods for existing products and collaborate with Engineering to develop methodologies for new products/components.
Perform disposition of non-conforming product as discovered in quality audits.
Qualifications Must have a High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in testing and troubleshooting complex systems. An associate’s degree, technical engineering, or technical field service background is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong practical mindset with ability to read and interpret highly technical documents (schematics, mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, bills of material, maintenance, and safety instructions/procedures).
Positive attitude and excellent communication skills with ability to speak with clarity and interface effectively with customers, management, and peers.
Skills in identifying and resolving recurring problems and submitting corrective action plans.
Interpersonal skills to interface with assembly technicians, engineering, and operations management.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and driving tasks to completion.
Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required to meet company revenue requirements.
Salary and Benefits The expected salary range for this position is $49,692.00 — $62,943.00, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job‑related factors when determining your pay.
