Job Summary Lead statistical process control (SPC) projects to improve production quality, safety, flow time, and cycle. Define new design changes and/or new production methods by coordinating all tasks to comply with end-to-end facility processes. Write and maintain technical specifications. Ensure that new designs comply with Industrial Methods through collaboration and the Digital Mock‑Up review process. Provide technical guidance for others.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities (essential functions)

Measure interior aircraft with a digital machine interfaced with CATIA V5 and analyze data sets to determine compliance with specifications and aircraft behavior.

Drive industrial methods into new engineering drawings/3D models.

Lead the validation of methods analysis and reports.

Create technical documentation based on SPC studies to drive actions to engineering or production for improving production flow time or cycle.

Lead troubleshooting on the aircraft when the B.U. cannot achieve first‑shot installation.

Create tooling specifications.

Act as a technical specialist between engineering and production in the development/optimization of production methods and propose new designs within the configuration management process.

Observe all safety procedures when performing measurements and creating tooling to ensure safe operation of people, environment, and material.

Receive initial instructions, requirements, and advice from the Team Leader.

Demonstrate efficient reporting to management.

Challenge engineering design and production methods.

Manage several projects simultaneously and efficiently.

Mentor employees with less experience.

Non‑principal Duties/Responsibilities (non‑essential functions)

Perform research and development (R & D) work to assist in developing parts, tooling, planning, and engineering.

Carry out ancillary duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Required Qualifications

B.S. Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.

5 years of industrial methods activities experience or relevant experience.

Strong computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.

VPM, CATIA V5 (Basic design) or equivalent (Minimum 500 hrs).

Good communication skills and openness to suggestions from others.

Strong understanding of production organization requirements & industrial approach.

Write and maintain technical specifications and documentation.

Good knowledge of mechanical tolerances and product lifecycle management.

Strong working knowledge of math and geometry and ability to work in both Metric and English units of measure.

Experience using measurement machines interfaced with digital CAD software for SPC purposes.

Experience with problem solving utilizing scientific methods and root cause analysis.

Demonstrated creativity and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems.

Proven source of technical expertise for others.

Additional Desired Qualifications

CNC programming skills (nesting).

Knowledge of composite panels (including behavior, fabrication & machining process).

Attention to detail/accuracy.

Experience writing methodology related to ME functions.

Aircraft experience.

Working Conditions

Both normal office conditions and manufacturing environments.

Must be able to work long periods (8 hours) at a computer terminal.

Must be able to function throughout the total facility, including up and down stairs and in and out of aircraft.

Must be able to stand, kneel, or crouch.

Employee will be subject to normal machining environment to confer with machinist(s) and must not be allergic to machining dust or particles. Must not be sensitive to manufacturing noise (riveting, drilling, machining, aircraft engines running, etc.).

Work in a machining/manufacturing environment wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Compensation And Benefits The compensation for this position typically falls between $70,738.00 and $94,502.50 per year. This position is not eligible for overtime under FLSA guidelines but may be eligible for a shift differential. The final compensation offered will depend on factors such as experience, education, certifications, location, and shift.
