Job Title: Engineer 4 Location: Multiple locations across the Dayton, OH area.

Base pay range $106,688.00/yr - $152,412.00/yr

HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Engineer with commercial derivative aircraft expertise to support the Presidential Executive Airlift program. This role involves translating user requirements into weapons system requirements and supporting the design, development, testing, and evaluation of systems for eventual deployment.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Airworthiness & Compliance: Apply MIL-HDBK-516C criteria, military airworthiness processes, compliance mapping, and SSRA development.

Regulatory Knowledge: Understand FARs, NPRMs, ADs, and AMOCs for certification and compliance.

Systems Engineering: Conduct trade‑off assessments, translate requirements into system specifications, and support design/test activities.

Documentation & Reviews: Prepare/review technical evaluations, engineering studies, acquisition strategies, RFPs, test plans, ATPs, and spectrum determinations.

Team Support: Participate in project meetings and reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FCA, PCA, PMR, etc.).

Performance Analysis: Support assessments of cost, life‑cycle, maintainability, reliability, risk, and scheduling trade‑offs.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience:

10+ years with Bachelor’s degree

7+ years with Master’s degree

3+ years with PhD (preferred)

Aircraft Expertise: Experience in design, development, and mission systems integration of commercial derivatives or military transports.

Technical Knowledge:

Systems displays, data buses (MIL-STD-1553B, ARINC-429)

Test planning and sustainment operations

FAA and Air Force certification processes

Evaluation Skills: Review engineering change notices/proposals, contract modifications, and program risks.

Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.
