Overview The Packaging Mechanic Technician works under the direction of the Packaging Maintenance Supervisor to ensure equipment in their assigned area is kept in top running condition.
Responsibilities
Provide maintenance services throughout the facility.
Perform mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
Carry out routine corrective maintenance, including mechanical repairs, rigging, metal fabrication, welding, cutting, drilling, milling, light electrical troubleshooting, installation and craft work.
Execute preventative maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, time‑based maintenance and inspections.
Collaborate with team members to prioritize critical repairs.
Provide training to apprentice mechanics and rovers.
Be assigned to one of the maintenance groups such as warehouse maintenance, packaging maintenance, garage or belt shop.
Job Requirements
Ability to work overtime, rotating shifts and weekends on a regular basis.
Demonstrate a high regard and ownership for personal safety and the safety of others.
Wearing required PPE such as protective clothing, safety glasses/goggles and steel‑toed boots.
Work effectively as part of a team in a unionized environment.
Education Requirements
At least 4 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
HOURLY RATE
$51.11 per hour. The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on qualifications and prior experience.
