is an entirely physician-led sub-specialty pathology group supported by a CAP-accredited histology lab located in the heart of Houston, Texas. Led by a team of board-certified pathologists, our lab is at the forefront of diagnostic science. Sagis is looking for a

Histology Technician

who will:

Perform histological procedures on tissues.

Perform histological preparations.

Maintain logs and prepare regular and special reports on procedures for specific tissues.

Ensure that laboratory equipment and supplies are clean and sterile and maintain the cleanliness of the laboratory

Follow the guidelines of HIPAA, designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of PHI.

Promote a culture of safety for patients and associates through proper identification, proper reporting, documentation and prevention of medical errors in a non-punitive environment.

Perform troubleshooting measures that concern the Histology Lab.

Maintain daily equipment Quality Control Forms.

Help maintain supplies with open/receive dates.

Demonstrate skills in technical data interpretation and ability to troubleshoot.

Demonstrate ability to take and follow directions.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 6:00 pm to 2:30 am

Qualifications:

1-3 years of Grossing or Histotech experience

REQUIRED

High School / G.E.D and a minimum Associates Degree

REQUIRED

Certification/registration as a Histology Technician or Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathology PREFERRED

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required sit for extended periods of time, perform repetitive body motions, and lift office supplies/lab materials up to 20 pounds
