Warehouse Assistant Manager

Perform all management tasks in the absence of the manager. Assist manager in planning and training. Manage daily operations of assigned warehouse, outlet, and recycling center. Present a professional image and serve as Supervisor in Charge when required, ensuring policies and procedures are consistently enforced. Cross‑train in all Goodwill operations. Model professional boundaries and lead a team to meet goals and deliver high quality guest and donor service. Adapt to changing salvage volumes, moving between tasks and assignments as priorities shift.
Requirements
Sensitivity to guest needs and wishes
Experience working effectively with people with disabilities or other special needs preferred
Computer proficiency – internet use and common software applications
Preferred experience with profit and loss, sales, or cost management accountability
Strong interpersonal, communication, monetary, organizational, and decision‑making skills
English reading, writing, and speaking required
DOT certified
Physical Requirements
Mobility within facility and community, with accommodation if needed
Capable of lifting 20–100 pounds with team or mechanical assistance
Ability to stand, stoop, bend, carry for extended periods and walk entire shift
Handle steps and temperature/humidity changes
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, longer shifts, and occasional travel
Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation; DMV check required
Background check mandatory; criminal convictions not an automatic bar
Experience
High School or equivalent
0–2 years in retail or comparable management
