Auto Body Paint & Wheel Repair Technician
Position Summary: The Auto Body Paint & Repair Technician will be responsible for repairing and painting automotive cosmetic damage in both solvent and water‑based base‑coat/clear‑coat systems. They will also paint surfaces of wheels using spray‑painting equipment and power tools, while maintaining production tools and supplies. This role requires developing and maintaining a weekly sales route in their territory to maximize profits, managing inventory, audits, and accurate logs of sales stops.
Duties Critical to Success
Maintain business relationships to increase our clients’ profits
Maintain excellent customer relationships to ensure longevity of accounts/business
Drive company van to dealerships and fleet operations in the metro area
Walk up and write up car lots for customer approval
Inspect vehicle body surface and wheels to be painted for repair, prepping and/or buffing defects
Mix specific colors using standard formulas or color charts
Perform paint repairs and refinishing to current company standards using spray‑painting equipment, power tools and work aids utilizing specific surface preparation and painting techniques
Sand, mask, blend and polish finish. Apply or retouch paint as necessary
Work with accounts/ sales managers on a regular basis to increase quality of service
Service retail customers when necessary
Report to assigned routes and establish accounts daily to service all repairs in a timely manner
Job Requirements
Minimum of 1–2 years of automotive paint experience; wheel repair experience a bonus
High School Diploma or equivalent
21 years of age with a valid Driver’s license
Vision abilities required include close, distance and colour vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Sales and customer service experience
Determination to succeed
Professional demeanor and appearance
General computer skills
Some experience with route sales preferred
Work in all elements of weather
Excellent communication skills, self‑motivated, and demonstrated ability to work independently
Regularly required to stand and walk; frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, climb and perform repetitive motion tasks
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (tools, dyes, paints, wheels, etc.)
Safe place to park company van

Compensation Base salary plus generous commission plan.
Year 1 average—$55,000 / $65,000
As a technician you will have a base salary, plus a generous commission structure. In addition to your base salary and commission, you will have the opportunity to earn additional compensation through bonuses.
