Yard Laborer

Job Summary We are currently seeking a Yard Laborer to join our Field Service Center team. Reporting to the Yard Foreman, the Yard Laborer is responsible for all routine on‑site loading and unloading of construction materials, assisting with yard maintenance and facilities maintenance, among other tasks. This position works along with the entire Yard team to plan and support the completion of assigned projects and ensures all plans move forward to meet projected deadlines.
Safety This is a safety‑sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.
Compliance This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

Qualifications
Construction related experience is a plus
Operating forklifts, loading, and unloading trucks
Heavy equipment familiarity
Basic reading and writing skills
Valid Driver's License is required
Essential Functions
Load and unload construction material and equipment manually or using forklift, dollies, hand trucks or cranes.
Inspection of material; sorting and/or stacking of incoming equipment and material.
Prepare equipment and materials for shipment or delivery according to work orders.
Transport materials, parts and/or equipment to job sites locally or regionally using non‑commercial and commercial vehicles as needed.
Perform general upkeep and maintenance of the yard, parking lots and buildings (including replacing light bulbs, picking up trash, lawn maintenance).
Clean and wash various construction equipment.
Use oxygen/acetylene to cut steel using cutting torch.
Sandblast forms, etc. to remove concrete and rust.
Communicate and collaborate with peers and Supervisor daily regarding the status of daily work tasks, orders and schedule.
Able to work overtime on occasion (e.g. coming in early or late to snowplow, shovel or perform general clean up and maintenance of the yard, parking lots and common areas around the buildings).
Physical Requirements of the Essential Functions
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level and 30 pounds to above shoulder level throughout work shift.
Must be able to work at heights up to 150 feet.
Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
Must be able to climb ladders.
Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl.
Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
Required to have acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing.
Required to have the ability to reach, lift and perform work above shoulder height – and the ability to work on uneven surfaces and in confined spaces.
